Auburn, ME — Aurore Mercier, 91, of Lewiston, died peacefully on Saturday Oct. 6, at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn.
 
She was born on August 31, 1921, in Saint-Quentin NB, Canada, a daughter of the late Abel and Angeline (Desjardin) Martin.
 
She was educated in Lewiston schools and had been employed in local textile and shoe industries.
 
“Ora” married the love of her life, Valmont Mercieron May 18, 1946, who predeceased her earlier this year. After retirement, she and “Val” enjoyed spending their winters in Florida. She enjoyed reading, and cooking, and was an accomplished seamstress.
 
Aurore is survived by her son John and his wife Debbie; her son Bob; her grandchildren Stephanie, Jim, Lauren and Lindsay; great-grandchildren Caitlyn, Jacob, Carter, Ella, Coleman and Julia.
 
A memorial mass will be held on October 27, 2012 at 5:30 PM, at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, 122 Ash Street, Lewiston, Me.
