Donald R. Beeler

Portland, ME – Donald R. Beeler, 84, of Portland died peacefully on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Mercy Hospital.  He was the husband of Beverly A. (Skillin) Beeler. 

 

He was born on July 3, 1934 in Portland, ME a son of the late Walter C. and Mabel E. (Roberge) Beeler.  He grew up in Portland, attending local area schools. 

 

Don worked for over twenty years for Knowlton Machine Company, retiring in 2002.  He also served in the National Guard in South Portland for eight years.  Don enjoyed many outdoor activities as long as he was surrounded by family and friends. 

 

Besides his wife of sixty-two years, he is survived by his children Ann Wilmot and her husband Gary and Dawn Beeler both of Portland, Kathleen Crawford and her husband Scott of Westbrook and Nancy Beeler and her partner Dan Boissonneault of Portland.  He also leaves five grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  He was also the father of the late Eric John Beeler, grandfather of the late Daniel Sangillo, brother of the late Charles C. Beeler, the late Louise Blanchard and the late Anna Stevens. 

 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Forest City Cemetery, 232 Lincoln Street, South Portland, ME. 

Sharon L. (MacCormack)

Cumberland, ME – Sharon L. (MacComack) Rushton, beloved wife and mother, 68, a long time resident of Cumberland died on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.  She was the wife of Arthur J. Rushton Jr.

She was born in Portland, ME on February 6, 1950 a daughter of the late Walter MacCormack & Rosalie (Wallace) MacCormack.  She graduated from Greely High School and was a State Diving Champion in 1967 and 1968.

Sharon taught costuming for modern dance for a good number of years at Brockport State in New York, University of Ohio and Athens Ohio College.  She then spent her final twenty three years before retiring at LL Beans.

She loved her flower garden and enjoyed bird watching; she could be found interacting with fellow parishioners, but loved her family above all.

Besides her mother and husband Sharon is survived her daughter Elizabeth Rushton and her son David Rushton.  She also leaves her sister Janice Zarco and James and Chris Nelson.

 

 

 

Maynard E. Braley

New Gloucester, ME – Maynard Edson Braley, age 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 30, 2018 at the Hospice House in Auburn. 

 

He was born November 1, 1944 in Auburn, ME a son of the late Erwin and Julia (Fuller) Braley.  He was a 1963 graduate of Edward Little High School. Maynard was also a member of the Mason’s for at least 30 years.  


He worked for most of his life as a delivery driver for Sears retiring at the age of 50. Then driving for Bedard Pharmacy and Evergreen Subaru also working at Point Sebago repairing RV’s.    

Maynard loved his boat and his house on the lake.  He had a second family at the lake, there was not a day that he did not walk down to the beach and chat with everyone and go for a boat ride.  

 
Maynard is lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law Diane Braley of Auburn, his nephews, Tracy and Susan Braley of Cocoa, FL, Troy and April Braley of Clermont FL; his niece: Kristine and Michael Stone of Hermon ME.  He also leaves his grand nieces and nephews, Sara Braley and fiancée Rob Williams of Merritt Island FL, Mackenzie, Jacob, and Matthew Stone of Hermon ME.  He was also the brother of the late Loring Braley.

The family wishes to thank Hospice House for such kind care in his last days.  

 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside memorial service on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 11 am at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 980 Turner Street, Auburn, ME.

Leona E. (Cox) Adams

 

South Portland, ME – Leona E. (Cox) Adams, 90, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the South Portland Nursing Home surrounded by her family.

 

She was born on June 16, 1928 in Peru, ME the daughter of the late Albert and Beulah (Cox) Cox.

Leona enjoyed crocheting, gardening and candlepin bowling; she was also a weather reader for ten years.

 

She is survived by her children; Dorene Hadley, Barbara Wallace, Larry Niskanen, Edward Adams and Sandra Larson.  She also leaves several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
