Biddeford, ME – Carlton E. Chapman, 70, of Biddeford died on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Southern Maine Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Jeanne (McGrath) Chapman.
He was born in Portland, ME on September 20, 1945.Son to the late George & Edith (Hoar) Chapman. He was one of four children and attended local area schools. After high school he joined the US Army and served active duty for three years, after which he served ten plus years in the National Guard.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Biddeford. Carlton was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors; He loved taking all the kids fishing with him. His favorite past time while at home was playing cribbage and watching any kind of movie, however he would always stop looking once he found something with Clint Eastwood or John Wayne.
He is survived by his children Terri Fitzpatrick and her husband David, Kevin Chapman, Carl Chapman and Marc Chapman, all of Portland. He also leaves eight grandchildren as well as two sisters Ann Wilkins and Sandra Chadbourne, a brother Stephen Chapman and his wife Lorie and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the Wilde Memorial Chapel in Evergreen Cemetery, 672 Stevens Ave., Portland, ME
