Windham, ME – Doris May (Carver) Ciccone, 82, formerly of Portland died on Thursday, May 15, 2014 in Windham after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Carmine “Chic” Ciccone, who passed away in 2006.
She was born in Portland, ME on June 14, 1931, a daughter of the late Volley and Mildred Carver. She attended local area schools and graduated from Deering High School.
Dot spent many years working for Pratt Abbott Dry Cleaners, after retiring she went back to work for Shaw’s Northgate for many years. She was also a member of the St. Peter’s Sacred Heart Sodality.
She was a very kind person who helped many over the years. She loved to dance the night away with her husband. She said that the first time they met she knew he was the one. She enjoyed gardening and walking the Boulevard; she was also an avid golfer and a great cook! Dot also loved to travel; traveling to both Italy and the Vatican, however she especially loved to travel to Quebec City in Canada with her son and his wife Deb whom she called her daughter.
Dot is survived by her son Joseph Ciccone and his wife Deborah Adams of Windham and her sister Deloris Burnell of Massachusetts. She also leaves her grandchildren Darcy Remillard and her husband Eric of Bedford, NH and Jeremy Ciccone and his wife Mary of Gorham, ME, her great grandchildren Trent and Jaedyn Remillard and members of her husband’s family Celia Perry of NY and John & Nancy Ciccone of Massachusetts. She was also the sister of the late Donald Carver.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to Rose for all her kindness to mom over the years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 72 Federal Street, Portland.
Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, South Portland, ME
