Landry DanielLewiston-Daniel Richard Landry, 43, of Lewiston, ME, passed away on December 24, 2013, at his home. Daniel was born on March 8, 1970, the son of Joseph A. Landry Jr. and Katherine A. Flaherty. Daniel attended Portland schools and completed his adult education. He was looking forward to classes at Southern Maine Community College.


Daniel spent many years as a commercial fisherman in Portland, ME, and off the grand banks of New Finland. He recently worked as a day laborer in Lewiston, ME. Daniel was a wiz at Sudoku. He loved texting and sending emails, and had a lot of friends on Facebook that he enjoyed talking to.


Besides his parents, Daniel is survived by a daughter, Khristy Landry of Gorham, ME; brothers Joseph and his wife Sandra Landry of Hebron, ME, and Sonny and his wife Sue Landry of Otisfield, ME; sisters Tammy and her husband George Burgess of Cumming, GA, Cathy and her husband Gordon Beckwith of Lewiston, ME, and Candy and her husband Joseph Helmuth of Redlands, CA; along with several nieces and nephews.


There will be a graveside service with a celebration of life to be held in the spring.

Rowe Norman711Portland- Norman Turner Rowe Jr., 67, of Vassalboro, Maine, passed away at Maine Medical Center on December 22, 2013. He was born on February 13, 1946 in Waterville, Maine, the Son of the late Norman Rowe Sr. and Barbara Young. He was the loving husband of Patricia (Lamarre) Rowe.

Norman worked as a photocopy repair technician for American Business Systems and he was an egg expected for the Department of Agriculture.

Norman was very fond of Apple electronics and long drives. He would enjoy reading Stephen King book, and he was also a huge New England Patriots fan.

Besides his wife Patricia, Norman is survived by two sons; Jason and his wife Laura Rowe, and Jeremy and his wife Tina Rowe; three daughters, Tammy and her husband Shawn Desrosiers, Becky Morse, and Mandy Lamontagne; five grandchildren Jacob, Skyler, Bellamy, Madison and Shelbey; three brothers, Stanley Rowe and his family, Ronald Rowe and his family, and Bruce Rowe and his family.

There will be a visitation on Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 6-8pm. There will also be another visitation on Friday, January 3, 2014 from 1-2 pm with a service to follow. Both visitations and the service will all be held at the Living Hope Church, 40 Portland Street Portland, Maine.

Cusack Ardley 708Portland, ME — Ardley B. Cusack “Art” of Collins road, Yarmouth, Maine, son of Ralph B. and Myrtle F. (Nelson) Cusack of Scarborough, Maine, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2013 with his family by his side following surgery at Maine Medical Center.

Art loved his work in public service and served as a police officer in Yarmouth for many years. Most recently, he worked as a security officer for Publicover Security and spent his days at the Florida Lights and Power Plant on Cousins Island where he greeted everyone with a smile. Art also spent 32 years as a truck driver for Webber Energy Fuels. He was also a navy veteran of the Korean War.

Art is survived by his wife, Carole Ann Cusack of Yarmouth, Maine, their Son, Stephen James Cusack and his wife Jennifer of Gray, his daughter Susan Barron of Pensacola, Florida, his son Ardley B Cusack II of Lubbock, Texas and his son Ralph B Cusack of Portland, as well as his grandchildren Ardley the III, Christopher A., Eleanor F., and Jayden L. Cusack.

A memorial service will be announced and a spring interment planned

(Martin) Chamberlain, 39, of Minot, ME, died Friday, December 20, 2013 at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME, unexpectedly.  Born October 11, 1974, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME, the daughter of Richard and Joline (Yeaton) Martin Sr., of Minot. 

Wendy attended Minot, consolidated, and graduated from Edward Little High School in Auburn, ME, in 1992.  She then went on to attend St. Joseph College in Windham, ME, and Central Maine Community College in Auburn, ME, where she graduated with a nursing degree.  She worked at Central Maine Medical Center for ten years. 

Wendy enjoyed writing poetry, going camping with her family, cooking, and spending time with her animals.  She was married to Marc P. Chamberlain, of Bathurst, New Brunswick, Canada

Besides her parents, Wendy is survived by her children; Saree Boutin, Sebastien Chamberlian, and Abrial Chamberlain; siblings Doreen (Ring) and Mark Huston, Jim and Jean Ring Jr., Richard Martin Jr. and Donna (Martin), and Phil Bridges; uncles Micheal Martin Elwood and Barbara Yeaton, and Will and Nancy Grover; Aunt Connie Davis; special nieces Dani, Crystal, and Jenifer; nephews Derrick, James, and Donald; and five great nephews. She also leaves her best friend, Karen Verril, and special friends, The Pratt Family.  She is predeceased by her grandparents, Paul Martin and Brenice (Montminy) Martin, and George and Leona (Haley) Yeaton.  She will be missed by all who loved her.

There will be a visitation at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 980 Turner St., Auburn, ME, at 12:00 noon on Thursday, December 26, 2013, with a service to be followed at 1:00.

Murphy Jean 696Scarborough, ME – Jean Ann (Kick) Murphy, 72, of Portland died on Sunday, December 8, 2013, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House surrounded by her family.

Jean was born on July 6, 1941 in Buffalo, NY, a daughter of the late Frederick & Florence (Caron) Kick.

Jean spent time working at the York Steak House and Key Bank; however spent the past 20 years working for Rite Aid in Portland. She was also a huge Elvis fan.

She is survived by her son Michael Murphy and his wife Sonmi of Phenix City, Alabama and her two daughters Lynn Campbell and her husband Bobby of Jacksonville, FL and Cheryl Murphy of Portland, ME. She also leaves her six grandchildren John Craft of Portland, ME, Wendy Carll of Arundel, ME, Mike Murphy Jr. of Irving , CA, April Murphy of Louisville, KY, Christopher Ross of Clarksville, TN and Laura Kiernan of Jacksonville, FL, and lifetime friend Dean Davis.

Frost Larry younger 703Frost Larry older 703Scarborough, ME – Larry D. Frost, 67, of Steep Falls for the past 40 years, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 with his family by his side at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. He was the husband of Donna (Reid) Frost.

Larry was born in Portland, ME on April 29, 1946 a son of the late Desmond & Ervena (Carmichael) Frost. He attended local area schools and graduated from South Portland High School without missing a single day. After high school he joined the US Air Force and served his country until 1970.

He worked for numerous Body Shops throughout his life, only missing a few days of work throughout his entire career.

He enjoyed fishing and loved landscaping his yard and will be remembered for his infectious laugh.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Harbour Auto Body in Portland for the care, understanding, dignity and respect they showed throughout the years of his employment.

Besides his wife of 43 years, he is survived by his daughters Julie Stevens and her husband Wally of Gorham, Laurie Robyck and her husband Stephen of Malta, NY, his son Chad Frost of Steep Falls and his five beautiful grandsons Caleb, Colby, Caden, Cameron and Chase all of Steep Falls. He also leaves a sister Connie York and her husband Robert of South Portland and a brother Steven Frost and his wife Joyce of Cumberland.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Wilde Memorial Chapel in Evergreen Cemetery, 672 Stevens Ave. Portland.

Wells- Karen Ann Hersom, 71, of Wells, passed away on Wednesday, December 11th, 2013 at her home surrounded by her children.  Karen was born July 18th, 1942, in Ridley Park Pennsylvania.  She was the daughter of the late Normal and Hazel (Rueblinger) Coppock. 


After graduating high school, Karen held many different jobs, including working at the front desk at the Norseman Hotel, driving a bus, driving a trolley and working as a CNA.  She enjoyed spending her time creating different kinds of jewelry, crocheting, cooking, gardening and walking along the beach. 


Karen is survived by her three Sons and a daughter; Dale and his wife Vicky Hersom, Stan and Samantha Hersom, Duane and Kellie Hersom, and Dawn Hersom.  Karen also leaves her grandchildren, Bridgette Desrochers, Tara Hersom, Tyler Palm, Duane Hersom Jr., Crystal Eldridge, Hannah Fisk, James Hersom, grace Hersom, Benjamin Hersom, Nathan Turnbull, and Perry Fortier; and her great grandchildren, Jenna Desrochers and Kiara Hussey; a brother, Robert and Linda Coppock; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. 


There will be a celebration of life at South Berwick Wells Christian Church at 612 Emery Bridge Road, South Berwick ME, 03908; on Wednesday, December 18th, 2013 from 4 PM to 7 PM.

Wilfert WendiSouth Portland — Wendi L. Wilfert, 53, formerly of Ossipee, NH died on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at her daughter’s home.

She was born in Milford, MA on November 24, 1960 a daughter of Raymond E. Wilfert of Forest Hills, MA and the late Merlyn (Hewitt) Rutherford of Davenport, FL. Wendi started her education in Franklin, MA and then moved to Dedham, MA where she graduated from Dedham High School, class of 1978. After traveling with the renaissance fair for four years she settled in Barrington, NH with her grandmother. The last ten years she spent in Hiram, ME, recently moving to Ossipee, NH.   

Over the years, she has been a counselor at Lakeview Rehab Center; worked for Espon selling printers; and Direct Merchandising throughout the New England area. While in Hiram, she created her online persona “Junk Patrol” which she owned and operated locating and selling rare and hard to find items internationally.   

Many knew Wendi for her ability to “wheel and deal” as enjoyed antiquing, which was the basis for her business “Junk Patrol”. She had an eye for the unique and rare. She took great pride in finding those “heart’s desire” pieces others would give up looking for. She adored her children and grandchildren and could never find enough time to spend with them. Her love of Christmas time was well known as was the amount of tape she used on each and every present.   

She is survived by her three daughters Aurora Ingemi of South Portland, Christian Ingemi of Walpole and Michelle Ingemi and her husband Michael Taylor of Hanson, MA. She also leaves her five grandchildren Stephanie, Zachary, Colby, Molly and Sophia as well as two brothers Michael Wilfert of Wolfboro Falls, NH and Randy Wilfert and his wife Lisa of Madrid, NY, a sister Keri Bouthiller of Stoneham, MA and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves her fiancée Frank Palazzo Jr.   

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday December 16 from 12 p.m. – 3 p.m. at the Wilde Memorial Chapel at Evergreen Cemetery, 672 Stevens Ave, Portland, ME.   

A graveside service will be held on December 17, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery, Seabrook, NH.
