Scarborough, ME – Jamie R. Little, 54, of Gorham, passed away at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House on Tuesday May 28, 2013 after struggling with cancer for the past two years. He was the beloved companion for 27 years of Theresa Rideout.
Jamie was born in Los Angeles, CA on February 15, 1960 a son of the late William A. Little, who died in January 1989 and Donna (Lawson) Shackley of South Portland. He graduated from Bonny Eagle High School as a member of the class of 1979.
Jamie was employed as a welder for McGuire and Jones Construction for many years.
Jamie was a huge Patriots fan and was lucky enough to attend a game last season, with his good friend Nicholi, against the New York Jets in which the Patriots, wearing their throwback uniforms, beat the Jets in dramatic fashion in overtime.
Jamie also was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and canoeing, especially with his son Jamie and grandson Lucas.
Besides his mother Donna and his companion Theresa, he is survived by his son Jamie Little of Gorham, daughters Lindsay Little of Gorham, Jessica Palmer of Scarborough and Jennifer Palmer of Gorham. He also leaves his grandson Lucas Little, two sisters Kathy Emerson and Debra Rickett both of South Portland, three brothers Donald W. Little of South Portland, Lincoln A. Little and Shawn P. Little both of Old Orchard Beach and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend many thanks to the doctors, nurses and social services at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House for their kindness and compassion.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
